Vidya Balan was rumored to be working on India’s first and only woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the actor confirmed the web series in making on Tuesday.
Vidya interacted with the media at the announcement of nominations for the first edition of the Critics Choice Film Awards.
Asked about the web series and when it could go on the floor the actor said, “I am trying to do a web series which will be based on the life of Indira Gandhiji. As of now, we are trying to do it, but let’s see how it takes shape,”
The web series reportedly will be produced by her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.
“I feel doing a web series involves a lot of work. While doing a web series, a lot of people associate themselves with it as compared to making a film. So, it takes a lot of time. But when I will do it, I will make sure that it turns out really well,” she added.
Critics Choice Film Awards are initiated by the Film Critics Guild and Motion Content Group. When asked Vidya how she felt about the awards and nominees she said, “I think the fact that critics all over the country come together and institute this award then there is some truth and credibility to it right. We can trust these awards and nominees who have been chosen on mere merit and no other considerations.”
Vidya was last seen in Tumhari Sulu in 2017 and will be seen next in ‘Mission Mangal’ alongside, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and more. The film directed by Jagan Shakti is said to release on August 15th, 2019.
