Actor Sanjay Dutt dropped the trailer on his social media profile. He captioned it, “It’s when good people do nothing that the bad guys win! #Torbaaz, premiering 11 December, only on @NetflixIndia. @NargisFakhri @RahulDevRising #RajuChadha @rahulmittra13 @malik_girish #PuneetSingh”
Sanjay Dutt is seen playing the role of an army officer, who rises above his personal tragedy and decides to transform the lives of few refugee camp kids who are on the path of destruction through the game of cricket.
The film is helmed by Girish Malik, also starring Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev. The story of Torbaaz is closely aligned with the reality of Afghanistan, and the beautiful depiction of cricket as a means of deliverance is as true for the children and other characters.
Torbaaz was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release, which couldn’t happen owing to COVID-19 pandemic, after which the makers confirmed its distribution contract with Netflix who began streaming it and directly released it online on 11 December 2020.
The film releases on Netflix on Dec 11.
