It has got huge traction and response from all over India. RDP laptop has created disruption in the Indian market with its low pricing and technical values.

RDP ThinBook design and build

Its sleek and matty finish, ebony black colour and 35.81 cm (14.1) screen gets immense appreciation. It is pre-installed with Windows 10 operating system for speedy and smooth user interface. The keyboard area consists of well-spaced chiclet keys and there are LED status lights above the keyboard for power, num lock and caps lock. The touchpad is small, but it’s surprisingly responsive and smooth with intuitive smart gestures.

RDP ThinBook specifications

ThinBook comes with fairly efficient Intel Atom Quad Core x5-Z8300 processor and offers clock speed of 1.84 GHz. It’s built on the 14nm fabrication process and has a TDP of under 4W, due to this it can sustain and remain cool without getting heated even after long hours of usage. ThinBook is backed up by 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage, and can be expanded upto 128GB through microSD card. The laptop also has a VGA webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Performance:

As far as performance is concerned, RDP ThinBook does fairly well. For this most affordable laptop the showstoppers are 8.5 hours battery and Windows 10. Windows 10 pillars around the use of Cortana, Microsoft Edge and mobile-like notifications which work perfectly. Windows 10 Cortana starts voice commands just by saying ‘Hey Cortana’ no matter what users are doing.

The big 14.1 inch display allows users to watch videos on a larger screen and it also helps in split-screen multitasking. Speakers perform well and are loud enough to allow users to enjoy movies and videos without any external speaker while the CPU can handle 4K videos without any trouble. RDP claims 8.5 hours of battery life on the ThinBook, which is in fact possible. In PCMark 8’s battery test, the ThinkBook got 7 hours and 57 minutes, which is more or less the same result RDP got with actual mixed usage.

Verdict

ThinBook makes large-screened laptops a lot more accessible and therefore offers pretty good value for money. It is designed mainly for those who want to buy a compact and portable laptop. It is also good for those who need an affordable Windows PC to perform their daily tasks and is portable to be their companion. The battery is also good, so users can carry it along on business and personal trips. Only storage could be the problem for few but users can always expand the storage using external storage solutions.
