Digital Financial Literacy Campaign notices participation of over one lakh students

HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has launched biggest campaign Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (Visaka) last week which emphasizes on digital financial transaction and transformation of India.

Currently, more than one lakh students have associated with the campaign.

This initiative has been taken to educate the candidates about opening of a bank account related to Aadhaar card, mobile number and other necessary details.

Under this campaign, the applicants were taught about Aadhaar based payment system, pre-paid card, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), mobile wallet and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD)

HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “We are getting good response from this program. More than one lakh student have already volunteered for this campaign. We will start with the training tomorrow in various colleges and the number is expected to grow at much higher level.”

The HRD ministry has also counseled the heads of education institutions to give students credits to every candidates to perform cashless transactions.
